Bruce Flournoy DuncanJuly 4, 1933 ~ December 20, 2017 (age 84)
Bruce Flournoy Duncan, age 84, of Columbus, passed away on December 20th. She was born in 1933 in Norfolk Virginia, daughter of the late William Edward Flournoy and Ruth (Kennon) Flournoy.
Bruce attended St. Anne’s-Belfield School, Charlottesville VA, graduated from Holton Arms School, Bethesda MD in 1951 and attended Middlebury College, class of 1955. She was an active member of the Columbus community, involved with the Buckeye Ranch, The Childhood League Center, The National Society of Colonial Dames of America In The State Of Ohio, and Columbus Museum of Art.
She lived on three continents plus the Azore Islands during her childhood and always loved to travel including visiting Alaska and Australia. She was a voracious reader, and enjoyed needlepoint, knitting, and cake decorating. She was a member of the Rocky Fork Beaglers and Ramblers, Franklin Garden Club, and The Columbus Country Club. Bruce’s priority was to be a loving wife and mother. She and her husband lived in Bexley for 37 years, where they raised their two children, before moving to Marble Cliff.
Bruce was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Basil M. Duncan, Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Kennon (Joshua) Anderson of Wenham, Massachusetts; son, Skip Duncan of Columbus, Ohio; and grandchildren Duncan and Cecille Anderson and McKenzie and Will Duncan.
At her request, there will be no funeral service, only a family gathering.
