The family of Roger S. Canupp will hold on to the love and memories they share as they move into the future without him. Roger passed away at home with the care of his family on Feb. 22nd, 2018. Preceded in death by his parents Fred and Kathleen (Copley) Canupp, his brother Charles and niece Stephanie Howser. He is survived by his wife of 50 years Patty (Compton) Canupp, daughter Leigh (Rick) Cristales and son Jay (Mindy) Canupp, grandchildren Jarren and Julia Cristales and Colin and Keagan Canupp. Sister Jane (Bob) Howser and sister in law, Kay Canupp, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins and special aunt.
Roger graduated from Belfry H.S., Pikeville College, and Central Michigan University. He was a thinker an analyzer – always working through scenarios of how things could possibly go wrong or go right, as well as being a teacher. He enjoyed sharing his knowledge and experiences in conversations with family, friends and even strangers. He loved talking to people and he had a story for everything! His careers included teaching high school biology, two years in the US Army during the Vietnam era, and over 35 years in the pharmaceutical industry with Glaxo Smith Kline.
Friends and family may call at Shaw Davis Funeral home at 4341 N. High St. in Clintonville On Sunday Feb. 25th from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at Shaw Davis on Monday Feb 26th at 11:00 AM with visitation starting at 10:15 AM. Burial will be at Kingwood Memorial Park 8230 Columbus Pike (St Rt. 23 N.) Lewis Center, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to in his memory to Boys and Girls Town, The Arbor Day Foundation, Wounded Warriors Project, Open Shelter, or a charity of your choosing.
