Vanessa Georgette Todd, 61 years of age, passed away in the presence of her loved ones on Sunday, November 18, 2018 at 1:17pm.
Vanessa was born on December 3, 1956 in Columbus, Ohio to George and Mildred Todd. She was the youngest of three children. Her nicknames growing up were Nessie and Red. Vanessa was educated in the Columbus Public School System (Michigan Ave Elementary, Everett Middle School, and Central High School).
Vanessa worked for 20+ years at Capital City Products Home of the Dixie, also known as, AC Humko, Pepsico, and others. She ran her own cleaning business, drove for Safelift Transportation and then ended her working career at Children’s Hospital.
Vanessa was a child of God who enjoyed helping others. She was an amazing cook and baker known for her homemade peanut butter fudge. She was very spontaneous and loved to travel. Her smile would warm your heart and her laugh would touch the heavens. Most importantly she cared for, befriended, and loved her dogs!
Vanessa is preceded in death by father George Todd; sister Nava Jo Couch. Survived by mother Mildred Todd; son Jimmy Todd, daughter Danielle Todd; brother James ‘Moose’ Todd; grandchildren Wesley Todd and Jimmy Todd, Jr.; niece Tai Couch, nephew Zach Couch; K9 Companion Jo-Jo Todd and lots of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, God-children and all her adoptive kids over the years.
Visitation will be held Saturday, Dec 1, 2018 from 2:00 – 3:00 pm at the SHAW-DAVIS FUNERAL HOMES, Short North Chapel, 34 W 2nd Ave, Columbus, OH 43201. Where her funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm. Online condolences through shaw-davis.com
