Cheryl “Sis” Pifer, our angel of the sea, peacefully passed away at home on Saturday, 1/23/2021 with her family by her side, following a battle with cancer.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 42 years, Stanley; children: Ryan (Stefanie) McConnell, Scott (Oanh Na) Pifer, Megan (Chad) Knowlden, Molly (Bradley) Anderson; Grandchildren: Chase (Alex) McConnell, Taylor (Daniel) Pinkis, Halle (Peter) McConnell, Devin Anderson, Ethan Knowlden, Emma Anderson, Addison Anderson, Hannah Knowlden, Nina Pifer, Natalie Pifer; Mother: Betty McConnell; brother: S. Douglas (Sue) McConnell; sister: Terri (Grace) McConnell; loyal sidekick: Toby Pifer; as well as cherished friends, relatives and coworkers.
She was preceded in death by her father, Stanley D. McConnell.
Sis was a caring and generous soul who treasured spending time with family. Her love of the sand and sun was surpassed only by the ocean itself. This love was matched perfectly with the 20 years she spent travelling the world with her husband while he proudly served in the United States Navy.
Memorial donations may be made to Lifeline of Ohio (www.lifelineofohio.org). Tragically, the system doesn’t have enough organs for people in need. We often bury healthy organs, while deserving patients are desperate to find them. One person’s decision to be an organ donor has the power to provide a precious second chance at life.
No funeral service is planned at this time, however, a memorial service will be held in the spring.
