In Loving Memory of Alexander Hamilton Boyce Sr.
February 25, 1957 - January 2, 2024

Alexander "Alex" Hamilton Boyce Sr., was born on February 25, 1957, in Hughes, Arkansas. Alex departed this earthly journey and was welcomed to heaven on January 2, 2024 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, OH, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories that will forever live in our hearts. Alex is preceded in death by his loving parents, Alex Boyce and Ruth Mae Smith Boyce; brother Bernard Cypress, and son-in-love David E James. As a youth in Osceola, AR, Alex, affectionately known as "Al-Cat" or simply "Boyce" was a skilled and prize-winning boxer. Following a career-ending accident, he found a new passion as Assistant Director of the Osceola Boys Club, impacting the lives of the next generation of youth boxers. Alex relocated to Columbus, Ohio, in 1989 where he served as a boxing coach with Columbus Recreation and Parks Department for a short while before going on to enjoy a successful 25-year career as Logistics Manager for Syneos/GSW. If Alex introduced you to THE blue photo album, his impressive record collection, or any member of his family, consider yourself truly loved. You weren't just an acquaintance; you were considered family. Alex is survived by his devoted wife of 40 yrs., Marion L. Martin-Boyce; eight children, Anita James of OH, Alexander H. (Tonnise) Boyce Jr. of AR, Kimberly (Felix) Quachey of OH , Vanessa (Karis) Boyce- Littleton of AR, Chaka (Lapora) Boyce-Hurt of AR, Courtnee (Sean) Boyce of OH, John Martin-Boyce of OH, and Dustin (Karlee) Martin-Boyce of OH; six siblings, Linda (Ray) Coleman of FL, Calvin Boyce of AR, Fred Boyce of AR, Edith Boyce of AR, Betty Boyce of AR, and Dewayne (Joslin) Boyce of AR; eighteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and close friends. Alex found immense pride in raising a beautiful blended family; his commitment extended beyond the ordinary, creating a legacy of resilience, compassion, and unwavering support. As we remember him, let us celebrate not only the individual milestones he achieved but also the collective triumphs of a family forged through love. May his spirit continue to guide and inspire us.
