Alton “Tony” Taylor, age 83, of Delaware, Ohio, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2026.
Tony was born on July 9, 1942, in Long Beach, California, to Alton and Mina Taylor. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1961 until his honorable discharge in 1964. His service was a defining part of his life, reflected in the well-known saying, “Once a Marine, always a Marine.”
Tony lived a full and meaningful life, marked by a deep love for his family and the outdoors. He especially cherished his time living in the desert in Yucca Valley and enjoyed boating in Lake Havasu with his children. He also enjoyed camping, playing billiards, and spending quality time with those closest to him. Tony had a special love for animals, especially dogs and elephants. Known for his steady presence, humor, and strong values, he leaves behind many lasting memories.
He is survived by his devoted friend, Carolyn Porter; his son, Tory Taylor and his wife, Delia; his daughter, Allyson Walters and her husband, Brian; and his cherished grandchildren, Lauren Walters, Katie Taylor, Garrett Walters, Aundrea Saravia and her husband, Andrew, Sergio Esparza, and Andrew Esparza. He was also blessed with great-grandchildren Sofia, Emira, Josiah, and Tripp.
Tony leaves behind a legacy of strength, dedication, and love for family—qualities that will continue to live on through those who knew and loved him.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
