Anna Bruns

Anna Mae Bruns, age 96, passed peacefully September 9, 2021 in Dublin, Ohio.  Anna was born in Leipsic, Ohio to Frances and George Gores.  Raised on a farm with her four siblings, she attended beauty school in Fort Wayne.  When she returned to northwest Ohio, she married her husband, Norbert Bruns, and they shared 69 years together raising five children.  Long-time member of Upper Arlington Lutheran Church in Columbus, Ohio and First Lutheran Church in Shelby, Ohio, she followed Christ her whole life and exemplified 1 Corinthians 15:58: “…always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.” She enjoyed gardening, puzzles, crosswords and participating in many activities in her final home at Dublin Retirement Village.  She is predeceased by her husband Norb, sisters, Ruth, Helen, Evelyn and brother Karl.  She is survived by her children, Linda Carden (Dave), Jane Porter (John), Kathy Bruns (Martin Stalnaker), Steve Bruns (Jane), and Scott Bruns; grandchildren: Andrea, David, Matt, Paul, Anya, Ian, Aaron, Amber, Austin, Mark and MaeLing; and seven great grandchildren. Anna Mae’s memorial service will be held at Upper Arlington Lutheran Church, 2300 Lytham Rd., on October 2, 2021 at 2 PM with reception following.
