Anthony Tyler Bates

December 28, 1985 — January 15, 2023

Anthony Tyler Bates, of Johnstown, passed away suddenly on January 15th, 2023. He is survived by his Daughter Gabrielle Smith, her Mother April Smith, Father Bill (Carolyn) Bates, Mother Teri Dematteo, Brother Zack (Rachel) Bates, Grandmother Louise Caslow, and many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and Friends.

It's no secret that his 'life on earth was troubled and only he could know the pain'... However, in spite of his struggles, his sole passion was raising his daughter; he loved her beyond words and was a great daddy. He worked in the restaurant industry and was an excellent cook. Ty (Anthony) always had a special way with, and love for, animals. He was funny and had a 'Far-Side' sense of humor. He read extensively and had the unique ability to retain anything he read. His musical interests were eclectic and he passed that on to his daughter. He was very special, very loved and we are going to miss him more than words can convey. Go rest high, Ty.
