Barbara Ann Lavely was reunited with the love of her life on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at the age of 88 years old.
Barbara was born in Columbus, Ohio in 1935 to parents Verna and Carl Rieser as well as 8 siblings. She grew up loving to roller-skate and her first job was working in a pencil factory.
Through mutual friends, at the age of 18, Barbara met Delmer Lavely and they married 3 months later. During their 63 years of marriage, they had 7 children, 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
Later in life, Barbara and her husband became members of The American Bell Association, Heart of Ohio Chapter. She also enjoyed traveling, baking, especially Christmas cookies, crafting and loved participating in craft shows.
Barbara and Delmer were long time members of the Calvin Presbyterian Church, Beechwold Christian Church, and Worthington Christian Church.
Barbara is survived by her children: Cindy Terry, Christy Johnson, Cheryl Archer, Carla Duda (Anthony), Craig Lavely, Connie Drabick (Steve) and Chad Lavely (Rick); Grandchildren: Matthew Terry (Gail), Nathan Terry, Robbie Johnson (Katie), Alicia Archer and Ashley Archer; great grandson: Brayden Johnson. She is also survived by her siblings: Jim Rieser, Bonnie Messing and Cathy Moeller.
Barbara is preceded in death by her husband, Delmer Lavely, her parents Verna and Carl Rieser, and 5 siblings.
Calling hours will be Saturday, February 17th from 2:00-3:00 p.m. with the funeral immediately following at Beechwold Christian Church, 280 Morse Road, Columbus. All are invited for fellowship with the family afterwards at the church hall. Donations can be made to the Kobacker House (Hospice) in memory of Barbara Lavely.
