Bette Frances Holliday Shelton, 80, a long-time resident of Marion, Ohio, died Monday morning (August 11, 2025) in Zanesville, Ohio, at her home, where she had resided for the past six months.
Mrs. Shelton was born October 20, 1944, in Marion to Denver W. and Betty J. Bricker Holliday. On July 31, 1965, in Marion, she married A. Dennis Shelton, who survives. She was raised in the Baptist church and was a member of Genoa Baptist Church in Westerville. She served in the church as a Sunday School teacher and Deacon.
As a graduate of The Ohio State University (1968), she spent her career as an educator teaching at the elementary and middle school levels. In addition to her teaching, she was a real estate broker for many years. From Marion, she moved and resided in Arizona, California, Southern Ohio, Northern Michigan, and for the last five years in Reynoldsburg and Zanesville.
Mrs. Shelton is survived by one daughter, Mrs. David E. (Laura F. Shelton) Bailey of Zanesville; and one granddaughter, Mrs. Sean J. (Brinn H. Bailey) Bex of Gahanna.
