Betty Shaw Brunsman Obituary

On Saturday, November 7th, 2020, Betty Shaw Brunsman passed away at the age of 74.

Betty was born on February 20th, 1946 in Columbus. She received her bachelor's and master’s degrees from The Ohio State University.  She worked as a social worker for most of her professional life.  She also ran her own business doing custom tailoring out of her home for many years.

Also an activist, she fought for Ohio’s ratification of the Equal Rights Amendment.  She also served as the president of the Columbus chapter of the National Organization in 1982.

An avid fiber artist, she spent almost every day of the last decade of her life knitting. She was especially fond of making clothing for dolls.

Betty was preceded in death by her mother Jean Shaw and her father William Shaw.  She is survived by her son August E. Brunsman IV, her daughter Angie S. Colbert, and her siblings Helen Shaw, Bob Shaw, and Bill Shaw.
