Beulah Beatrice Smith was born on May 14,1938, in Columbus, Ohio, and departed this life on May 24, 2025. Affectionately known as “Bee or Bumble Bee,” she had a fun-loving spirit and never met a stranger. Her warmth and charisma made her a friend to all who crossed her path.A former resident of Flytown, (an area in Columbus) she attended Central High School and carried the heart of her community wherever she went. Although she didn't drive and walked almost everywhere, she amazingly knew the layout of the city, many people, and was well known in many areas.

Relocating to New Orleans, where she survived Hurricane Katrina, she returned home to Columbus.

The loves of her life were her family, several of whom served in the armed forces. She spent a lot of time at the Ohio Capital City Memorial Post #3764. Bee was a member of Martin Luther King Jr.Temple #1216.

Bee is preceded in death by her grandparents John T. and Beulah F. Jackson, mother Marnice (Jackson) Tolber, father Stanley W. Turner, daughter Patty (Smith) Brown, and brother, Stanley Turner, Jr. She is survived by her daughter Pamela L. Anderson, son Jack Vencent Smith, sisters La Retta Turner and Sharon Turner, a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and many other relatives and friends.
