Bruce Milton Barber

Bruce Milton Barber, 87, was called to his eternal home on March 22, 2023. He was the son of Garnett and Gwendolyn Barber, born January 23, 1936 in Oak Park, Illinois.

Bruce spent his early educational years at Cheshire Academy, a private boarding school, located in Cheshire, Connecticut. Following graduation from Cheshire, he attended Dartmouth College, receiving engineering and business education degrees. Bruce later became a certified public accountant.

At the age of 24, he began his career with American Electric Power, which was then located in New York City. In 1983, Bruce moved to Columbus when the company relocated to Ohio. He retired as a vice president at their mandatory retirement age of 65.

During his retirement he traveled extensively, visiting all but two state capitals and numerous foreign countries.

He is survived by a half-brother, Dan Erickson, as well as nieces and nephews.
