Carol Susan Avakian (Lombardi)

It is with deep sorrow and profound love that we announce the passing of Carol Susan Avakian (Lombardi) on July 23, 2025.

Born to Nicholas and Marjorie Lombardi, Carol was raised with the values of strength, warmth, and loyalty—qualities she embodied throughout her life. She was a proud graduate of Otterbein University, earning her Bachelor of Arts in 1998 and specializing in interior design. 

Carol had an unmatched sense of style and was known by many as a true fashionista—effortlessly chic, bold, and expressive. She cherished the finer things in life and brought beauty into the world not only through what she wore, but in how she made others feel: loved, supported, and fiercely cared for.

Carol is survived by her beloved son, Nicholas Avakian (Madeline Baker); her sisters Cindy Lombardi (Rick Roberts) and Cathy Parker (Roy Parker); her niece Veronica Parker (Matt Brooks); her nephew James Starner; many cherished life long friends; and her two beloved dogs, Jaxon and Rico.

A celebration of Carol’s life will be held on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 between 5pm-7pm, at Shaw-Davis Funeral Home, 4341 N. High St., Columbus, Ohio 43214. She will be laid to rest beside her parents at St. Joseph Cemetery.
