Carole M Foley

April 6, 1942 — October 27, 2023

Karo Foley (Carole Ostrov Deaton Foley) born April 6, 1942, in Dayton, Ohio, died on October 27, 2023. Karo was preceded in death by her parents Kathryn and Harold Ostrov as well as her brother Gary Ostrov. She is survived by her sons Duke (Arnold) Deaton and Michael Deaton, her sister Joy Ostrov Metelits (Stephen) and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Karo graduated from Colonel White High School in Dayton, Ohio, worked at Wright Patterson Airforce Base and for a while operated an antique shop specializing in the sale of primitives. She had a great eye for decorating and appreciation of nature.

Important in Karo’s life was her personal faith. Her Bible was her constant companion. She sadly missed the company of her beloved dogs, Yorkies Winston and Gretel.

Karo wrote a book, Make a Difference, with a simple message: acts of kindness can counteract meanness.

A special thank you to Mark Garner whose daily phone calls brightened Karo’s days. Mark made a difference in her life and Karo valued his friendship.

Per Karo’s request no funeral or memorial service will be held. Her inurnment will be at City of Dublin Cemetery, 190 Monterey Drive, Dublin Ohio. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your local food pantry.
