Catherine Ann Tulman

August 12, 1966 — October 5, 2025

Catherine Tulman (Cathy), 59, of Columbus passed into the eternal presence of her Savior Jesus Christ on Sun Oct 5, 2025 at her home, after a courageous battle with a rare incurable liver cancer. Her devoted sister Jill was holding her hand and reading Psalm 23 to her as Cathy passed into glory at 1:45 AM.

Born in 1966 in Newport Beach, the oldest of 3 girls to Jo Ann (Asselstine) and Robert Raymond, who settled in Santa Barbara, CA, Cathy had an idyllic childhood with her younger sisters Jill and Lynn, enjoying the California sunshine. She became an accomplished horsewoman. Cathy received Jesus as Savior at 4 years of age and was a life-long dedicated Christian and student of God’s Word.

A graduate of Westmont College in 1988, Cathy worked as a legal assistant in San Diego before moving to Columbus in 1994 following her marriage. During her 14-year marriage, she was a dedicated stepmother to David and Leigh and worked as an office manager. Later settling in Perry Township, Cathy became a faithful member of Linworth Baptist Church. She was active in women’s ministry and Vacation Bible School, teaching/hosting women’s Bible studies—some of which she wrote herself—and was a member of the Krizo’s Life Group and Sunday Bible Study with Pastor Emeritus George Hattenfield and his wife Jean, dear friends.

Cathy enjoyed walking her dogs and tending to her beautiful yard. She had a deep love for animals, especially her cats and spaniels, who awaited her in heaven. Her beloved English cocker spaniel Sydney mourns her passing.

Cathy was politically conservative, active and informed, willing to take courageous stands on principle, for instance, the life of the unborn. Cathy was a remarkable friend and gifted hostess, intelligent, strong, passionate and loyal.

Cathy was preceded in death by her father Robert Raymond (1979) and is survived by her mother Jo Ann Raymond, her two sisters Jill Raymond and Lynn (Adam) Squier and their 3 children Molly Staton (Daniel), Robert (Hallie} Squier and Thomas Squier. She is mourned by her church family and dear friends who loved her.

A Christian Memorial Service will be held at Linworth Baptist Church, 6200 Linworth Rd at 10:00 AM on Sat Oct 11, 2025, Followed by light refreshments in the church auditorium. All welcome.

Arrangements by Shaw-Davis Funeral Home, phone 614-262-2600. No viewing or service at the funeral home per Cathy’s request.

Cathy will be interred at Resurrection Cemetery where her mortal remains will await the resurrection of the dead promised to all believers in Jesus.

Donations may be made to PDHC.org in support of crisis pregnancy care—a cause dear to Cathy’s heart.

Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for calamity, to give you a future and a hope.”
