Chaiyoot Pinittanond, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on September 23, 2022. Chai was born to Prathong and Panee Pinittanond on March 15, 1956 in Bangkok, Thailand. He moved to the US in 1974 and shortly after settled in “Cowtown” Columbus, Ohio.
Taking care of his two daughters Marissa “Mali” and Suvichada “Yhing” Pinittanond was his true meaning and happiness in life. There was not a single person he met that didn’t have to stop and listen about his daughters for a moment. He also raised and nurtured several of Mali and Yhing’s friends, stepping in as a parental figure for anyone that needed him.
Aside from caring for his daughters, he also enjoyed cooking for his loved ones. Anyone who has been to his home knows that you couldn’t leave without trying some of his food. Although if you ever asked for a recipe he would always say “Oh it's simple just a little of this and that”. He had recently mastered flipping food in a wok.
He enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially at “Thai Acres”, his property in Knox County. He enjoyed listening to live music and would frequently drag many friends and family to listen to live music all around Ohio.
His infectious smile will be missed by all who knew him. But he will continue to live on through all of our laughter and joy shared over meals.
