Cheryl Annette Nelson

Cheryl Annette Nelson, age 69, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Cheryl was born on January 28, 1957, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to David Heck Sr. and Edith Janke.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her siblings, Donna Bailey and David Heck Jr. She is survived by her brother, Lawerence Heck.

Cheryl retired due to chronic health issues. Throughout her life, she found purpose in caring for and helping others. One of the most memorable and meaningful chapters of her life was her career as an EMT/Paramedic while living in Pennsylvania, a role she was especially proud of and fondly remembered.

During her retirement, Cheryl enjoyed the simple things that brought her happiness. She loved spending time with her beloved animals, watching game shows and cooking shows, and playing her favorite game, Candy Crush. Most of all, she cherished the time she spent with her family and the memories created along the way.

Cheryl leaves behind her three children, Christy Steele, Tiffany Kinzer (Melvin Kinzer), and Shawn Nelson, who will carry her memory and love in their hearts.

She is also survived by her grandchildren, Joshua Steele, Shawn Jones, Orlando Jones Sr. (Brandi Jones), Christopher Steele (Averi Steele), Tiera Jones, and Michael, and her great-grandchildren, Makenzie Jones, Jeremiah Jones, Milani Jones, Cora Steele, and Orlando Jones Jr.

Cheryl will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her memory will live on through her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family, and the many lives she touched throughout her journey.

Rest peacefully, Mom. You will forever be loved, forever be missed, and forever be a part of us.
