Civilla Carpenter

November 22, 1965 — August 19, 2022

Civilla Ann Carpenter passed away Friday August 19th 2022 after a long battle with many health conditions and her body could not fight anymore. She was surrounded by loved ones at the time of her passing. Civilla put up a good fight.

Civilla by trade was a Beautician and worked as such for many years. She was always willing to make someone feel a more beautiful version of themself regardless of how she was feeling physically. She would gladly go to peoples homes, have them come to her, or even cut hair poolside.

Civilla was an incredibly strong and independent woman. She never met a stranger and found the greatest joy in the little things in life. She never let her declining health stop her from trying to keep up with the love of her life, her daughter Dimond.

Civilla would be the first person to offer help to anyone, she loved helping others. If you needed her she was there instantly.  Her laugh was contagious and she loved with all that she was, she knew know other way, She had an amazing sense of humor and a very fiesty spirit.

Civilla was a care taker especially to children. If a child needed anything she gave. Every summer all she looked forward to loading up the cars full of kids and their friends, heading up to Westerville's JayCee pool and spending the entire day there. However know day was complete without a trip to Ritas after for some Italian ice. Those memories got her through winters and hard times with her health and she could not wait for the next summer to arrive.

Her driving force in all that she did was her daughter Dimond. On days she felt so tired or sick Dimond would be the only reason she would get out of bed. They were truly two peas in a pod. She had Dimond in mind with every move she made. She loved to grab Dimond and their dog and do random Starbucks runs. It did not matter what they did as long as it was together she was content. Dimond helped take care of her mom so much when she got sick.

Dimond would wait on her mom hand and foot, especially when her health began to fade. Dimond did the grocery shopping, helped Chuck do all the cleaning , she took care of all of the pets, and would get her mom anything and everything she needed. Dimond also learned to do laundry at a very young age. Anything to help her mom. Dimond was lovingly devoted to her mom.

However Civilla could not have done all of this without Chuck, Dimonds father. They had decided many years ago to live as roommates and raise Dimond together. Not many parents would do that. Chuck did so much for Civilla, especially when she got extremely ill this past summer. He never missed a day calling the hospital at 6am to check and see how she was doing. Every single day from May 6th till the day of her passing.

Civilla was preceeded in death by her father John Carpenter and brother J. Carpenter. Survived by mother Virginia Carpenter, Chuck and Dimond Deeds, Brothers William (LouAnn) Carpenter, Diane Carpenter, Johnny(Vickie) Carpenter. Many nieces and nephews, Shane, William, Lee, Haley Ann, Samuel Chase, Alex, Kathleen, Timmy and Steve. She was also survived by many close friends some in which became family, Kathy, Tiffany, Bella, and Bailey. She had a very special relationship with her nephew Timmy.

I understand this is not your typical obituary, but you see Civilla was not your typical person. She may have seemed a little rough around the edges but what lay beneath was a truly phenomenal person To put into words Civilla Carpenter is next to impossible. I think of her and I think of unconditional love. I now know every single decision Civilla made was made out of unconditional love.
