Cody Wayne Chouinard, 21, of Jackson, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, November 9, 2025, in Columbus, Ohio. Born on May 2, 2004, in Alexandria, Louisiana, Cody was the beloved son of Michael P. Chouinard, Jr. and Kristina Marie Blancett (née Menges).
Cody was full of life—funny, silly, spirited, and always ready with a joke to brighten the room. He loved baseball, gaming, music, hunting and shooting, time at his family’s cabin in Ontario, Canada, and working on cars. He was studying automotive technology and was proud to be pursuing a career doing what he loved. There was never a dull moment when Cody was around; he had a gift for making others laugh and feel included, and he would give you the shirt off his back without a second thought.
Cody is survived by his father, Mike; his mother, Tina, and stepfather, Jon Blancett; sisters, Katy (25) and Grace (19); paternal grandparents, Dr. Michael and Sharon Chouinard; maternal grandparents, Robert Menges and Toni Skelton; and his beloved pets, Cache and Ivy. He also leaves behind numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, extended family members, and friends who cherished him dearly.
Funeral services will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Jackson, Tennessee, on November 24th. Visitation will take place from 9:00–9:45 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m., presided over by Fr. Dennis Shenkel. A reception will follow in the Holy Family Hall at St. Mary’s. Cody will be laid to rest in Sikeston, Missouri, at a later date to be determined—a place filled with family history, memories, and love.
Funeral Mass arrangements will be handled by family, friends, and St. Mary’s parish. Shaw-Davis Funeral Home of Columbus, Ohio, prepared Cody for internment. For additional information, please contact St. Mary’s Catholic Church at (731) 668-2596.

Cody was a loving son, brother, grandson, and friend—our buddy, our partner in crime, our goofball, thoughtful and spry, always ready for adventure. He left us far too soon, and his absence is deeply felt. May he rest in peace.
