Corrick "Corky" Wong

Corrick “Corky” Wong, 67, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2026, just days before his 68th birthday. Born on May 3, 1958, Corky lived a life centered around family, service, friendship, and adventure.

Corky was preceded in death by his father, Hong Soon Wong; his mother, Virginia Wong; and his brother, Cleatus Wong.

He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Angie Wong; his stepdaughter, Misty VanMeter; his stepson, Paul VanHorne; his granddaughter, Courtney King; his grandsons, Aaron Simpson and Jacob Simpson; and his great-granddaughter, Payton Cook. He also leaves behind many extended family members, friends, and loved ones who will deeply miss his presence and kindness.

Corky proudly served in the National Guard before dedicating much of his life to caring for others through a career in nursing. Throughout the years, he worked in many different nursing roles, touching countless lives with his compassion, humor, and willingness to help anyone in need.

Outside of work, Corky found his greatest joy in camping with friends and family. Whether traveling across Ohio or exploring other states, he loved the outdoors, campfires, laughter, and making memories with the people he cared about most. Those moments together became treasured traditions that his family and friends will forever hold close to their hearts.

Corky will be remembered for his caring spirit, his dedication to his family, and the many lives he impacted through both his work and friendships. His memory will live on in the stories shared around campfires, family gatherings, and the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will take place on Thursday May 14, 2026, from 5pm to 6pm with a service to follow at the Shaw-Davis Short North Chapel, 34 West 2nd Avenue Columbus, Ohio 43201.
