Curtiss McDonald, 51, passed away on September 27, 2025, in Mansfield, Ohio. Born on February 19, 1974, in Columbus, Ohio, Curtiss lived a life marked by hard work, generosity, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys of life.
A proud graduate of West High School in Columbus, Curtiss went on to build a career rooted in dedication and self-reliance. He owned and operated his own lawn care business, Curt McDonald and Associates, where he took pride in serving his community with diligence and care. In addition to his landscaping work, Curtiss also applied his skills to contract work on houses—always willing to lend a hand or take on a new project.
Curtiss found joy in many passions outside of work. He was an avid fisherman who cherished time spent outdoors. He enjoyed shooting sports and had a deep love for metal and rock music that reflected his spirited personality. Crime shows were among his favorite pastimes, offering him intrigue and entertainment. One of his greatest delights was indulging in his sister’s homemade peanut butter fudge—a treat he looked forward to with enthusiasm.
Those who knew Curtiss would describe him as friendly, kind, and generous. His warmth touched many lives and left lasting impressions on those around him.
He is lovingly remembered by his son Brandon Wolford and Brandon’s wife Savanna; his daughter Jessica Stroud; his sisters Carol McDonald and Carla Bowen (Chuck); and his partner Jessica Adams. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and cousins who will miss him dearly.
Curtiss was preceded in death by his mother Lucille McDonald; father James McDonald; sister Sandra MacEachen; sister Crystle McDonald; brother Gene Strader; and his grandparents.
A celebration of life to honor Curtiss will be held in Mansfield, Ohio.
