Daniel Muffitt

Daniel "Danny" Muffitt, 54, of Hilliard, Ohio, passed away peacefully at his home on July 18, 2026. Dan was born on August 9, 1971, in Evergreen Park, Illinois, to Michael Muffitt and Mary Clifford.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Melissa Johnson. His sons, Ashton and Dylan Muffitt and step-daughter Haylee Nagle. His parents, Mary Clifford (Mike Ukinski) and Michael (Kathy) Muffitt. His siblings Alison (Neil) Murphy, Sam (Anna) Clifford, Erick Lang (Camille Neitzel), as well as many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends.

Dan dedicated more than 20 years of his career as a union painter, taking pride in his craftsmanship and working with his hands. Outside of work, he was an incredibly talented artist who loved drawing and painting. Music was woven into every part of his life, and in recent years he discovered a passion for gardening, quickly developing quite the green thumb.

Those who knew Dan will remember him for his kind and compassionate heart, his willingness to help anyone in need, and the deep love he had for the people in his life. He was passionate, determined, and yes, sometimes wonderfully stubborn. He loved fiercely, laughed wholeheartedly, and left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

After being diagnosed with cancer in October 2025, Dan faced his illness with remarkable courage and strength. Though cancer ultimately claimed his life, it never defined the man he was. His love, creativity, generosity, and spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

Dan will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
