David E Evans, age 90, passed away after a long illness at his Columbus residence on May 14, 2026.
Born on May 6, 1936, in Newark, Ohio, he was the son of the late Ellis and Helen (Gebby) Evans.
David is survived by his four children, Chris Evans, Connie Tracy, Sue (Jim) Hodge, and Scott (Cathy) Evans, seven grandchildren, Andrea (Aaron) Beane, Andrew (Stephanie) Evans, Cole Evans, Brad Tracy, Kaitlin (Patrick Illien) Hodge, Samantha Evans, Alison Evans, and ten great-grandchildren, Makaylah Evans, Caleigh Evans, Salem Beane, Titus Beane, Knox Beane, Zoey Beane, Vander Tracy, Joven Tracy, Navia Tracy, and Amalia Illien, all of whom brought him immense pride and joy.
David is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Virginia (Evans) McCormick, and his wife of 57 years, Martha (Cooperider) Evans.
A graduate of The Ohio State University, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture and dedicated his life to farming. He owned and operated an independent cattle farm near Utica, Ohio, where he raised registered Angus cattle with care and expertise.
Above all, David’s love of family was paramount. He deeply valued time spent with his children and grandchildren, creating lasting memories through his steady presence and quiet strength.
He will be remembered as a man of integrity, patience, and kindness—someone who was quick with a smile and always ready to lend a helping hand. His legacy lives on in the family he cherished and the values he instilled in those who knew him.
