David Carl Williams

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of David Carl Williams, age 77, also known as Big D, D, Dad and PawPaw. David passed away on March 10, 2026. He was born August 8, 1948 in Pomeroy, Ohio to Elna Bunch Williams and Willie Williams.

David grew up in Pomeroy, Ohio and later moved to Columbus, Ohio, where he lived his adult life and raised his family. David truly loved life and family and being social. David was a one-of-a-kind type of man and loved cracking jokes, having a good time, and was indeed the life of the party. He embodied strength and resilience and carried that out throughout his entire life. He loved music and worked as a DJ for several years going by the DJ name Big D. He brought energy, talent, and personality to everything he did. He was also an avid car lover and worked in the automotive industry for over 40 years both as a mechanic and as a car detailer and took great pride in his work. He was a passionate sports fan and loved watching football as well as professional wrestling. His kindness, humor, strength, unique style, vibrant spirit and genuine love for life will always be remembered and live on in the hearts of everyone who knew him and loved him.

David is survived by his children, Carrie Williams, Becky Williams, and David Carl Williams II. He is also survived by one brother, Ronnie Williams, 14 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents Willie and Elna Williams, his brothers, James Williams and Kenny Williams and his loving bonus mothers Doreen Bunch Lewis, Martha Darlene Bunch Blanch and bonus father Charles "Fuzzy" Lewis.

Graveside service to celebrate his life will be held on March 27th, 2026, at Beech Grove Cemetery, Pomeroy Ohio.
