Michelle is preceded in death by her mother: Gertrude Akins; siblings: Velma Bowens, Diane Bowens (Moon), Henry Akins, Annette Akins, Darryel Akins; nephew Simuel Akins; & child Elexis Brown who passed away at birth.

She leaves behind 4 siblings: Rachel Akins, Sim Akins, Isabelle Akins and Darlene Akins; 11 children: Kenyan Brown, Cythia Brown, Izle Brown Jr, Rohallah Brown, Kenyatta Brown, Pamela Brown, Nicole Branch & Talia Branch; nephews: Hazes Bowens, Frederick Akins, Appassionata Jordan-Akins, & Lavelle Akins; great nephews & niece: Frederick Jr, Damico, Mekhl, Nevaeh & Terell.
