He is preceded in death by his wife Peggy Bates and Daughter Rhonda Bates; Parents John and Venus Bates; Brother Kenneth Bates; Infant brother Jerry-Lee Bates; Infant grandson Anthony Sanders.

Survived by his grandsons Eric Sanders, Matthew Sanders and Daniel Sanders; Brothers Daniel (Debbie) Bates, Donald (Pam) Bates; Sister Brenda Bates-Sprouse.

Dennis had many family members and friends. He took pride into being a husband, father and grandfather.
