We celebrate the life of Dennis Bernell Faulkner who passed away September 2nd 2026 at the age of 87. Born July 30th 1939 in Wheeling West Virginia, he lived in Cadiz, Barnsville & Caldwell, Ohio growing up. He moved to Columbus at the age of 15 and as an adult was proud to own his home on Henderson Rd.
He leaves behind the love of his life and wife of 66 years Joan Carol Faulkner. Also left behind to cherish his memory are his children Bryant (Janice) Faulkner and Monica (Zac) Welch. He was a special Grandpa to Nathan Faulkner, Joshua (Emilie) Baker, Nicholas (Brittany) Baker and Melissa (Anthony) Sparks. He was blessed to be a Great Grandpa to Ethan, Freddie, Kinley, Elliana and Caden and was especially fond of his many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents William and Louise Faulkner and his sisters Mary Lou, Mandana and Naioma. Family and loved ones were his greatest joy.
Dennis served in the U.S. Army. He worked early on as a finance manager and later in life at Airborne Express, but his primary career was Owner and Operator of Corrective Tree Care. His lifetime of hard work from his meager beginnings created a successful life for his family and he was very proud of this.
Beyond the love for his family, Dennis enjoyed get togethers, dinners, holidays (especially seeing the decorated Christmas Trees), scenic drives, vacations and a good meal. He was a great story teller, remembering many details and passing on his wisdom, sometimes repeating himself just to make sure you got it all!
Our family would also like to thank his close friend Joe Bartczak for his many uplifting visits, all the friends/staff from Wendy’s, the Options Home Services health providers and the Hospice nurses and staff. You all made a difference in our Dad’s life and we are grateful.
