Donald Lloyd Coey II, born on June 20, 1967, peacefully departed this life on August 23, 2025, surrounded by his loving family and friends after a long and exhausting battle with cancer.
Donald began his journey of hard work and dedication at a young age, working on Tom Irvin's farm, where he earned the nickname "Duck." After completing school, he went to work for Rockwell International and later went on to deliver packages for Airborne Express, Jart Air, and DHL. His professional journey ended at the Cintas Corporation.
A passionate individual, Donald had a profound love for horses and found joy in painting, teaching himself to create beautiful artwork that reflected his gentle spirit. His faith was central to his life; he loved the Lord with all his heart and soul, a testament to the strength of his character.
Donald leaves behind a loving family, including his wife of 28 years, Becky (Blain), and their cherished daughters: Kristina (Chance Hatten), Meaghan (Jeffrey Rodgers), and Mariah (Travis) Morehouse. He was a proud grandfather to eleven grandchildren: Korbyn, Kaleah, Addison, Brysen, Konnor, Breeana, Kaisyn, Dezaray, Camden, Jameson, and Granger. Donald is also survived by his sisters Angela (Matthew) Poole, Anita (TJ) DiPietro, Amanda (Jeremy) White, and Trisha Duffy, as well as several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, Donald Coey; his mother, Cathy (Coey/Cody) Busch; his stepfather, William Busch; his grandparents; and several aunts, uncles, and nephew, Michael Hoskinson.
Donald was known for his kindness, love of family and friends, and his warm spirit that made every encounter special. He never met a stranger, demonstrating an openness and friendliness that endeared him to many.
Donald, Duck, Don, or Donnie, whatever you knew him by will be greatly missed in this world. We love you and miss you.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date with further information to follow.
