Dorethea “Cookie” Dudley passed away peacefully on June 17, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on March 3, 1967, in Columbus, Ohio, Cookie lived a life rooted in faith, love, strength, and devotion to those she cherished most.

Cookie was known for her kind heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering dedication to her family. She had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel welcome, loved, and cared for. Her warm smile, encouraging words, and compassionate nature touched countless lives and created lasting memories for all who knew her.

She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved children: Taqouia Cardwell, Steven Cardwell, Brandi Cisse and her husband, Alhassane Cisse, Carold Dominique Cardwell, Edward Brown II, Christian Brown, and Trenton Dudley.

Cookie was a proud and devoted grandmother to Brianna Tarpeh, Zion Tarpeh, Sariel Tarpeh, Edan Tarpeh, Mamoudou Cisse, Amadou Cisse, Grace Butler, Nashaun Woody Jr., King Simpson, Ka’Leo Brown, E’morie Brown, Xayvion Brown, and Kamara Dudley. Her grandchildren were among her greatest blessings, and she treasured every moment spent with them.

She is also survived by her loving siblings: Marie Odoms, Debbie Odoms, Sonja Young, Lester Cardwell, Bobby Cardwell, Kevin Odoms and his wife, Brittinie, Samuel “Sammy” Odoms and his wife, Gina, Anthony Young, Layton Mitchell, and Clayton Mitchell; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Samuel Odoms and Peggy Dave, her sister, Thomasa Cardwell, and her brother, Tony Cardwell.

Cookie’s greatest joy was her family. She poured her love into every generation, offering guidance, encouragement, and unconditional support. Her strength inspired those around her, and her legacy of love, resilience, and compassion will continue to live on through the many lives she touched.

Although she is no longer with us in body, her spirit, wisdom, and love remain forever in our hearts. Her memory will continue to guide and inspire her family and friends for years to come.

Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, July 11, 202611:00 AM at the Reynoldsburg Church of the Nazarene
