Esther Marie (LeVally) Hampton

Esther Marie (LeVally) Hampton, age 87, departed this life on August 9, 2026 in Columbus Ohio. She was born in Columbus on December 5, 1938 to Ralph Parker LeVally and Thelma Mildred (Dozier) LeVally. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Harold Dean Hampton, best known as "Bud". Esther earned a PhD in the Counselor Education Program in the Department of Educational Services and Research at The Ohio State University. Her doctorate thesis title was “Reducing Problem Behavior and Increasing Adaptive Behavior in Bereaved Children through Stress Inoculation Training.” She was a talented mental health therapist who positively impacted many individuals and families. Her three sons are Timmy F. Hampton; Alan Dean Hampton; and John Parker (Tricia) Hampton. Her six grandchildren are Justin Thomas Hampton; John Joseph Hampton; Megan Marie (Derrick) Skaggs; Samuel Dean Hampton; Ryan Parker (Michela) Hampton; and Sara Ann (Allen) Wright. Her four great grandchildren are Ethan Parker (Kenslee) Hampton; Hannah Renee Wright; Logan Allen Wright; and Mason Lee Hampton. Her three siblings are Thomas Neil LeVally (deceased); Janet Sue Annicchiarico; and David Ralph LeVally (deceased).
