Life and Legacy
Eula Beatrice Lewis passed away at 4:34 a.m. on May 25, 2026, at Kobacker House in Columbus, Ohio, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Dementia disease. She was surrounded by the love and support of her family in her final days.
Eula was born in Indianola, Mississippi, to Elizabeth Laine Wiley and John Wiley, both of whom preceded her in death. She was one of 11 siblings, all of whom also preceded her in death: O’Neal, RB, Robert, Bud, Clotee, George, Geraldine, Rose, Napolean, and Olie.
When Eula was four years old, her family relocated to St. Louis, Missouri.
Marriage, Family, and Career
Eula graduated from Kinloch High School in 1958. She later met the love of her life, Robert Lewis, and they were married on July 10, 1959.
Together, they built a family of seven children. Wanting to help support her growing family, Eula returned to school to study nursing. Her love of caring for others made the profession a natural fit, and she worked as a nurse for 20 plus years.
Later, Eula’s love for ministry and service led her to return to school to study Business Administration. She then worked alongside her husband, Robert, as an Executive Assistant at the Allegheny West Conference.
