Floyd R. West Jr. passed away unexpectedly on February 12, 2026. He attended West High School and was a proud veteran of the US Navy. He continued on to be a successful business owner for over 30 years – making friends from many of his customers.
His hobbies included fishing, boating, visiting the cigar shop, playing Friday night poker with friends and spending as much time as possible with family and friends. You would find him at the sidelines of games, seats in plays, attending recitals, and at numerous graduations. His smile and zest for life was contagious to whoever met him. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need without second thought. He had a heart of pure gold that could not go unnoticed. If you had the pleasure of meeting him, he will forever be in your heart.
He is proceeded in death by his father Floyd R. West Sr (Dixie) of Plain City, Ohio and his mother Barbara Wolfe (Don).
He is survived by his wife Wanda, the love of his life for 32 years; his two sons, Marcus West and Hunter Swackhammer; two daughters Tracy Burns and Veronica Moore; three brothers Ray (Amy) West, Dan (Judy) West, Tim (Mary) West, and one sister Kelli (Joe) Renicker; and his grandchildren, great grandchildren and many (many) nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Shaw-Davis Funeral Home located at 4341 N. High St., Columbus, Oh 43214 on Thursday, February 19, 2026 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made in his name to the American Heart Association.
