George Ollen Jones

George Ollen Jones, 79, of Sciotoville, Ohio, formerly of Urbana , Ohio, passed away on August 24, 2026. George was born in Otway, Ohio to Roy and Daisy Jones. He was married to the late Cathy (Rowland) Jones.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Roy and Daisy, his siblings: John Jones, David Jones, Bill Evans, Oak Evans, Dale Evans, Mary Lou Daulton, granddaughters: Stacey Watson and Haven Jones, grandson: Brandon Jones, and great-granddaughter: Chevelle Phillips. 

He is survived by his 5 children: Donald (Missy) Jones, Derek (Ashley) Jones, David Jones, Michelle (Jamie) Knox, and Heather (David) Mauler. Grandchildren: Jessica Jones, Amanda Daniel, Edward Jones, Dustin DeWeese, Tiffany Elder, David Jones Jr., Kaylee Williams, Samantha Jones, Paul Jones, Katherine Jones, Lane Jones, Brandon Rhoden, Jake Rhoden, Dakota Dodds, Tyler Hopewell, Terry Joseph Hopewell, Lindsey Stone, many great-grandchildren, and 1 sister: Phyllis Russel of Texas.

George worked at Grimes in Urbana. He loved western movies, cooking, fishing, and was an avid member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. George was a survivor, as he battled Polio his entire life. He was a big jokester and always had a smile on his face.
