Harmon Isaac Austin Jr.

April 4, 1988 — May 26, 2026

Harmon Isaac Austin Jr., affectionately known to everyone who loved him as "Roo", tragically lost his battle with mental illness at just 38 years old.

He was born April 4th, 1988 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Harmon Sr. and Connie.

Roo grew up loving drag racing and building race cars with his "Pops". Every Friday and Saturday night as a child, you would find him and his dad at the street races. Just like his Pops, you couldn't convince him there was anything better than a Chevy.

He, just like his older brother Josh, loved the Xichigan Wolverines. He loved when they would (seldomly) beat the Buckeyes, so that he could call and rub it in his mom and little sisters faces.

Another passion of Roo's was tattoos. He loved getting them, and eventually enjoyed shooting tattoos on many friends and family members. While they weren't always the best (like the one he snuck and gave his little sister when they were teenagers), he did improve his skills, and now his oldest son Harmon will forever have a piece of his dad.

Roo also enjoyed fishing, beer...lots and lots of beer, Natty Light, to be more specific, and country music.

Preceded in death by his daughter, Talia Angel Austin, his parents, Harmon and Connie Austin, the mother of his children, Tara Lynn Carolus, and his great niece, Delilah Constance Austin.

He leaves behind his 2 sons, Harmon Isaac Austin III & Shawn Christian Austin. His siblings, Angel (Chance) Witt, Joshua (Kelly) Austin, Alberta (Ed) Grossmann, Steven (Arron) Taylor, and Gary Taylor. Many nieces and nephews, especially Joshua II, Jeremiah (Baby J and Tally), Jordan, MaKayla, Dalynn, Lauralynn, Dallas and Bentley. Many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

"My obituary will probably say, "He knew better, but he did it anyway". -Roo
