Heanon Edgar Austin

March 28, 1969 — September 3, 2022

Heanon Edgar Austin, 53, of Columbus, Ohio & Dallas, Texas, passed away on September 3, 2022. Born the youngest son of 8 children on March 28, 1969, Heanon was your typical little brother. Playing pranks and jokes on his brothers and sisters, he was silly and fun to be around. His one-of-a-kind sense of humor made you laugh almost instantly being in his presence. He had a way of making the most serious of situations lighter and more carefree. Heanon had a wide variety of passions, he was very skilled with his hands and was able to craft some amazing and beautiful things. He also had a very eclectic music taste, his nephews fondly remember him driving up in his car blasting some NWA, Van Halen, or Weird Al Yankovich. He loved to cook and he was always finding a reason for going to the grocery store. You’d often find him in the kitchens fixing something to eat or prepping something for the next meal. You knew when he was cooking that you might as well stay and wait, you were eating too- it was a way he showed his love. You’d know Heanon was awake in the mornings by the smell of fresh coffee, the sizzle of fried eggs and the nonstop singing and random things he’d come up with and would say. He was a die-hard Ohio State Buckeyes Fan and Dallas Cowboys Fan, He never missed a game and would trash talk even when the Cowboys had losing seasons. His last 3 years were spent with his sister Wanda as she cared for him during his end stage heart failure. They shared many laughs and made many memories that she will cherish with her whole heart.

Heanon was welcomed into heaven by his mother and father, Wanda Christine & Lanuel Cast Austin; Sister, Deborah Bice-Rodgers; Nephew, William Bice; Brother-in-laws, Clint Meredith, Mike Shaw & Mike Rodgers; Infant Nieces, Cassady & Christine.

He is survived by the absolute love of his life, Tinnie Austin “The most amazing woman I’d ever met”-Heanon; Sons, Heanon (Peanut) & Lanuel Austin; Brothers, Daniel (Amy) Toney & Douglas (Tina) Toney; Sisters: Darlene Shaw, Lanuella (Mark) Stewart & Wanda (Thomas) Clark. Many, many adored nieces and nephews.

Heanon wasn’t a perfect man by any means and he knew there are many relationships that he left unhealed by his actions and choices over the years. Unfortunately, his changed heart was a sick heart and he never was able to make things right. Special Thank You to his dear devoted friend Paul Street for leading Heanon to heavenly salvation. There will never be another man like you and the void of your passing will be great. We love you.
