October 14, 1965 — September 23, 2025

Columbus

Helen "HB" Belle was born on October 14,1965, in Columbus, Ohio, to William Belle Jr. and Alice Belle. She was the second of five children and grew up in Urbancrest, Ohio. Helen attended Grove City High School and later earned her GED from Rinton Technical Institute in 1982. In her youth, she joyfully shared her voice as a singer with Union Baptist Church.

Helen was best known for her giving spirit and selflessness. She had a heart for helping others, often stepping in before anyone even had to ask. Whether at voting booths, weddings, parties, or community gatherings, Helen could always be found lending a hand, cleaning up, and making sure no one was left with too much to do. She loved children and poured her energy into caring for others, always reminding those around her, "It was already i n your book o f life."

Helen also had a playful side. She was a devoted fan of Prince and enjoyed the simple joy of playing the lottery in her spare time.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Helen and William Belle Sr. and Lillian and John Wallace; her brother, James Earl Belle; her aunt, Ellen Davis-Wallace; and her uncles, John, James, Harley, and William Wallace.

Helen leaves to cherish her memory her devoted mother and best friend, Alice Belle; her life partner, Anthony M'Celroy; her sister, Kelly Belle; brothers Edward L. Wallace and Billy (Eva) Belle; her nephews, Deontae Belle (whom she lovingly raised as her son) and Devin (Sarah) Belle; her nieces, Stephanie (ason) Smith, Daquana Sullivan, and Tina (Kenny) Purdie; as well as 10 great-nieces, 9 great-nephews, and 10 great-great-nieces and nephews HB is also remembered fondly by her favorite cousins Bonita and Debra Wallace, cousin Marvin Wallace, little cousin Stacey Wallace, and many other relatives and friends.

Helen's family would like to extend a very special thanks to her care team. Barbara Jean Quinchett, Lydia Quinchett, Tabby Neff, Gail Triplett, Gail Winbush, Stacy Wallace, Joan Dunning, Tasha Frost, Tyra Wallace, Maryann Fields, and Derrick Richardson.
