Herman Harvey Hutton, 81, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away at home on Wednesday September 27th while surrounded by his loving family. Herman was born in Columbus, Ohio on June 30th, 1942 to Henry Gilmore Hutton and Alta Louve Hutton. Herman was raised in a loving home with 2 brothers and 4 sisters. Herman’s dedication to family and hard work were shaped in his childhood years when he helped on the family farm in Southern Ohio. Herman worked for Big Bear Stores for 40 years, starting in 1958 as a grocery bagger and retiring in 1998 as Pest Control Manager. Herman was outgoing and enjoyed visiting and helping his family & friends. He was an original member of The Top 20 Club for 42 years, where he served as Treasurer until his passing.
Herman married the love of his life, Sue Daniels on November 22nd, 1961, and spent the next 62 years as a devoted husband and soulmate. Herman is proceeded in death by his parents, and his siblings Henry “Jay” (Betty) Hutton, Kenny (Barbara) Hutton, Barbara Hutton and Alma (Bobby) Bright. He is survived by his wife Sue, their children, Richard (Mary) Hutton, Tammy (Shannon) Phillips, Susan (Ken) Musick, Scott (Susan) Hutton; grandchildren Devon Mann, Shane Phillips, Ryan Hutton, Taylor Musick, Eric Hutton, Kyle Phillips, Tyler Phillips, Carson Hutton, Sydney Hutton, and Emily Porter; step-grandchildren, Nikita (J.R.) Unverzagt, Ryan Phillips and Anthony Porter; great grandchildren Brayden Mann; siblings Doris (Bob-deceased) Ryan, Marlene (George-deceased) Rich, many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Visitation will take place Wednesday October 4, 2023 from 6-8pm at the Shaw-Davis Clintonville Chapel, 4341 North High Street, Columbus, OH 43214. Funeral Service begins Thursday October 5, 2023 at 10am at the Clintonville Chapel, followed by burial at Eastlawn Cemetery.
