Hessie M. Jones of Westerville, Ohio passed peacefully on February 16, 2021 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. She was born in Kite, Kentucky on November 2, 1932 to Wille D. and Evaline (King) Hall.
Hessie was a dedicated mother and educator first and foremost. She loved children, which was a large part of why she chose to become a teacher. While helping young people learn and grow was her passion; her true joy in life was her role as Nana.
She will be deeply missed by her daughter Suzanne (John) Gadrim, Wendy (Patrick) Cort-Shay and her son Boone (Jayne) Hall Jr., grandchildren Regan Gadrim, Nate Gadrim, and Drew (Jesi) Sweigart. Hessie was preceded in death by her spouses Donald Cort, Ronald Jones and Walter Martin, Jr., brothers Virgil Hall, and Claude Hall, Sr., and sisters Allie Gibson and Altie Hall.
While we grieve her loss, we are choosing to remember her in a way that honors her spirit; a Celebration of Life ceremony will be held later in the year. As an expression of sympathy, we ask that memorial donations be made to the following organizations in lieu of flowers.
