James Robert Busch

James “Jim” Busch, age 69, passed peacefully in the early morning hours of April 22,

Jim was born in Alliance, Ohio to Barb and Carl Busch, who proceeded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Bill and is survived by his sister, Kathy Mirakovits and Ken Cogswell.

Jim graduated from Kenyon College in 1979 and went on to build a long and distinguished career with Battelle Memorial Institute in the field of Optical Sciences. Throughout his career, he authored numerous publications and was awarded a patent, reflecting both his dedication and expertise.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Barb; his sons, Greg and David(Jaclyn); and three cherished grandchildren, Leah, Carson and Wesley who brought more love to his heart and a special light to his eyes. He is also lovingly remembered by extended family, Dean and Nan Curry, Bob and Cindy Burbrink and many nieces and nephews.

Jim had a deep love for golf, both playing and watching the game. He was known for being meticulous and organized, a true handyman who could fix just about anything. In recent years, he could often be seen walking through his community in brightly colored tracksuits-no matter the weather.

Jim will be remembered for his gentle spirit and his kind, loving nature. He leaves behind a legacy of quiet strength and devotion to those he loved.

A celebration of Jim’s life will be held on Saturday May 16 from 11am-2pm at Pizza Cottage &Tipton Tavern, 8753 Owenfield Dr., Powell OH 43065.Please stop by, share your memories, enjoy a slice of his favorite pizza and raise a glass in his memory.
