In Loving Memory of Jaylun Michael Gallagher, 27

It is with profound sadness and sorrow that the family of Jaylun Michael Gallagher announces his passing at the young age of 27—a life tragically cut short by gun violence. Though his time among us was far too brief, Jaylun’s presence left an indelible mark on every soul who knew and loved him.

Jaylun was a son, brother, father, grandson, and friend whose spirit was defined by strength, loyalty, and love. He was strong-willed and determined, never afraid to stand firm in his convictions. Yet beneath that strength was a heart that beat with deep devotion to his family. He showed up with a love that was both stubborn and steadfast, a loyalty that never wavered, and a presence that reminded us of all the power of resilience.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Elmore V. Hawkins, and his paternal grandfather, Micheal W. Gallagher.

He leaves behind his two precious sons, Jaylun Jr. and Jayce Gallagher, who were the very light of his life, his devoted parents, Brian and Cindy Gallagher; his loving sister, Bryana Gallagher; his brother, Jamel Gallagher. He is also survived by his nephews, Josiah, Jeremiah, and Jaden; his maternal grandmother, Denise Y. Hawkins; and his paternal grandmother, Karen L. Muetzel (Gallagher).

Jaylun’s love extended to his aunts, Crystal Williams, Kareem Hawkins, Destiny Hawkins; his uncle, Elmore Hawkins; cousins Alyssa and Angelo Williams; and his special bond with cousins Natasha Fox, Hassan Herring, Emoni, and Tajon Herring. He is remembered by a host of great grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends who cherished him deeply.

His absence will be felt in every corner of their lives, yet his memory will live on in the stories they share, the lessons he taught, and the love he gave so freely.

Though Jaylun’s earthly journey ended far too soon, his legacy is one of resilience, devotion, and family. His family will miss him greatly, but they will forever remember the man who was strong-willed, loving, stubborn, and loyal—a man whose life, though short, was filled with meaning and love.

And so, we commend his spirit to God, trusting that he now rests in eternal peace. May his soul be embraced by divine mercy, and may his memory be a blessing and a guiding light to all who mourn him.
