Jeffrey B. Collins, 64, of Johnstown, OH, passed away on June 21st, 2024 after a long battle with kidney and heart disease.
Jeffrey was born on June 17th, 1960 to Virgil and Wilma (Porter) Collins in Columbus, OH. After graduating from Northridge High School in 1978, he went on to work in multiple fields of construction before starting his own painting business. He later went on to college to study Information Systems at Central Ohio Technical College.
One of the kindest souls on this planet, our father was a gentle, giving man who worked tirelessly to ensure that his family had everything they needed. He faced every challenge in life with admirable strength and courage.
Early in life, he learned the importance of hard work and he instilled that same work ethic in his children. He was always there for his family, whether they needed help with homework or just a shoulder to cry on. He was a man of strong faith and he shared the importance of God, family, and hard work with everyone he knew.
Jeffrey enjoyed building, gardening, playing cards, playing sports and art. He could usually be found playing cards with friends, building his erector set or drawing in his free time. He also enjoyed tending to his succulents and bird watching. He loved people, the outdoors and found true happiness in the beauty of creation.
Anyone who knew Jeffrey knew that he was the most loving father, brother and Pawpaw. Jeffrey was predeceased by his grandparents Basil and Stella Collins and John and Amma Porter, his parents Virgil and Wilma Collins, brother-in-law Gene Moore and grandson Rhys. He is survived by his siblings Julia Moore, Ronda (Wesley) Eichelman, Byron (Melissa) Collins, Basil (Lisa) Collins, Eric (Wendy) Collins, John (Donna) Collins, Keith (Margie) Collins, Kelly Collins, his children Charis (Brandon) Mechling, Cassandra (Matthew) Turner, Courtney (William) Ashcraft, Candace Reed, as well as his grandchildren Chaice, Charisma, Riley, Brent, Cheyenne, Uriah, Audrey, Alyvia, Bradley, Adalynn, Kaysen, and Bryan.
