Joan L. Foucht

Joan L. Foucht, age 92, Thursday August 31, 2023, Riverside Hospital. Daughter of Byron and Pauline Foucht. Member of the Overbrook Presbyterian Church and choir, Clintonville Women's Club, AAUW and choir. Past president and 38yr member of the Women's Assoc. and past chairman of the Caprice Encore Unit of the Columbus Symphony Orchestra. Joan was a retired teacher, and guidance counselor for the Columbus Public Schools. Joan graduated from Zanesville High School and was a member of the band, and she also attended Capital University majoring in music. She received her bachelor’s and masters from The Ohio State University.

Joan was preceded in death by mother Pauline Tavenner Foucht; father, Byron R. Fought; brother Byron (Bob) Foucht; sister Marilyn Foucht Holcomb and nephew Elijah Sage Vance. Joan is survived by her brother, Nelson Foucht (Peggy) of London, Ohio. Niece Kathryn Foucht Price, nephews Allen Foucht (Melinda) and James Moore (Shona). Great niece Hannah Pauline, Vern; Great nephews; Daniel Downs, Justin Foucht, Zane Foucht (Erin), Warren Smith (Loren), great-great niece Evelyn Victoria Smith and longtime friend Lavonne Oakey.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Columbus Symphony Orchestra in Joan's memory.
