Joan Beryl (Matyas) Taylor, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully from natural causes on May 30, 2026, at the Paramount Senior Living Center in Columbus, Ohio. Born on March 28, 1939, in Detroit, Michigan, Joan lived a life marked by dedication, creativity, and an enduring love for her family and community.

She was a high school graduate of Thurston High School, Class of 1957. Before retirement, she devoted much of her life to running an in-home daycare, alongside managing the duties of a homemaker. Joan found joy in spending time with family and friends, baking, sewing, and engaging in Stamping-up crafting. She also enjoyed collecting decorative porcelain plates, reading, and gardening.

She leaves behind a loving family who adored and respected her. Her children Kevin (Theresa) Taylor, Beth Cline, and Keith Taylor. She was grandmother to Melody, Dalton, Nick, Madalyn, Colton, Megan, Gabriella, and Chase. Her siblings George and Vicki, along with her nieces and nephews Gerry, Wendy, Joe, and Mary. Joan was also auntie to pets Sasha, Isabella, and Star. Among her many dear friends, Joe (De) Cotter held a special place in her heart, alongside numerous others who were apart of her life. She loved you all!

Joan was preceded in death by her father John W. Matyas, mother Beryl A. (Sweeney) Matyas, and sister Carol Karasinski.
