Joel Ray Dawson

Joel Ray Dawson was born on July 27, 1946 and sadly passed away on October 13, 2024 in Grove City, Ohio. He fought cancer for many, many years and ultimately lost that battle. Joel was a very hard worker and always provided for his family. He was a dedicated father, grandfather, brother, and son.

Joel was preceded in death by his father Joseph D. Dawson and mother Ruby Drake (Dawson/French). He is survived by his children Kendra Dawson, David Dawson (Michelle Plahuta/Dawson), Jonathan Dawson (Cinda Wilson/Dawson); grandchildren Logan Dawson, Erynn Dawson, Lexie Dawson, Bryce Dawson; Brother Terry Dawson (MaryJo DiPietro/Dawson); Sister Patsy Dillon; as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Joel was well-loved and will be greatly missed.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to support the Sarcoma Research Fund (312232) at the OSU James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute. Gifts may be made in memory of Joel R. Dawson.
