John D. Clark, age 69, of Columbus, Ohio, died on June 16, 2026. He was born on October 3, 1956 in Columbus to James and Virginia Clark. John retired from the city of Columbus as a police department clerk after almost 30 years. Before that he worked at Sears warehouse and at print shops. He graduated from Columbus Technical Institute.
John will be remembered for his kindness, warmth, generosity, sense of humor and devotion to his family. He was a model railroader in the Central Ohio O-Scale Engineers club and loved books and history. He is survived by his spouse of 20 years, Elizabeth "Libby" Beckley, his brother Greg Clark, cousins, Libby's family members, who loved him, and many friends. Even if we had forever with John, it wouldn't have been enough.
No flowers please, but consider donating to Friends of East Broad Top Railroad and letting the family know.
His family is so grateful for the kindness and support shown during this time. Shaw-Davis will handle cremation. Local friends may call at Libby and John's residence on weekday afternoons between June 22-29.
