John David Hite

John David Hite, 81, of Upper Arlington, OH, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2025 surrounded by his family. He was born on October 23, 1943, and lived a full life marked by devotion to family, a love of nature, and a kind spirit. John built a long and respected career at The Ohio State University, where his dedication and work ethic were admired. Outside of his professional life, John was happiest building scale models. He enjoyed his garden, tending to flowers and plants. He also found great joy in traveling with his family, creating cherished memories across the years.

John was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Judy, with whom he shared many years of love and partnership. He is survived by his sons Brian (Cristina) Hite and Phil (Emily) Hite, as well as his cherished grandchildren, Emma and Owen.

John will be remembered for his persistent nature, fierce independence, and unwavering dedication to hobbies and pets.

The family will be having a private memorial so that they can come together to share memories of John.
