We are heartbroken to share the news of John Michael Lawrence, 67, of Grove City, Ohio, who passed away on July 20, 2025, at his residence. He was born January 10, 1958 in Columbus, Ohio to Robert (Bob) and Nancy (Strouse) Lawrence.

John graduated from Franklin Heights High School in 1976. After high school he served honorably in the Marines. He studied at Columbus Technical Institute(CTI) and worked for many years as an employee Benefits Specialist at the Nationwide Insurance Company’s US corporate headquarters in Columbus, Ohio.

He is preceded in death by his mother Nancy, mother-in-law Mary Hix and stepfather-in-law Bill Hix.

In addition to his father Bob; he is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Jan Elizabeth (Bowman) Lawrence; son, Evan (Tiffany) Lawrence; grandsons, Tanner, Wesley and Levi Lawrence; siblings, Debbie (Tim) Carver, David (Lisa) Lawrence and Lori (Bruce) Blackburn. He also has two brothers-in-law, Jeff (Lisa) Bowman and Randy (Lori) Bowman and also many nieces and nephews and extended family. In addition, John loved his grand puppies, Roscoe, Luci and Jack.

John enjoyed many beach vacations at Holden Beach, NC, fishing trips with his dad and family and “mini-vacations “ with his wife at “The Treehouse” in the Hocking Hills.

John’s greatest joy and proudest accomplishment in life was raising his son Evan. He enjoyed attending his sports events over the years as well as just spending time with him having fun. That joy carried over to Evan’s family, Tiffany (wife) and grandsons who he adored. John was affectionately known to them as “Pops”.

John’s beautiful, caring soul as well as his quick wit and fun loving kid-at-heart attitude will be greatly missed, but loved and remembered forever.

As John’s wishes will be carried out, he requested there be no services for him.
