Johnnie Ray Starkey Jr.

Johnnie Ray Starkey Jr. “Jay”, of Newark, was born on August 4^th, 1978 to Johnnie Ray Starkey Sr. and the late Debora K. Sherman-Ogilvie.

Jay was a Ken Griffey Jr. fan and a die hard Cincinnati Reds fan. He enjoyed collecting baseball cards, fishing, playing Bingo, and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife: Cynthia Starkey, Four Sons: Jose (Stephaney) Gaytan, Elijah Werley, Aiden Halblaub, and Braxton Halblaub, Brothers: Christopher Sherman, Jamie Anderson, and Tim Anderson, Three Nieces: Kaylyn (Tom) Davis, Keyona Sherman, and Brooklind Reed, plus several Aunts, Uncles, and lots of cousins.

Jay is preceded in death by his Mother, Grandparents, Aunts, and Uncles.

A celebration of life will be held on Monday January 30th, 2023 at GMP Hall, 350 Hudson Avenue Newark, Ohio 43055 from 5-8pm.
