Joseph R. Dunn, 89, of Delaware, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 22, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on June 14, 1936, in Sistersville, WV, Joe was a cherished son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great‑grandfather, and great‑great‑grandfather whose steady presence brought warmth, strength, and deep love to all who knew him.
Joe, retired as an Instrumentation Electrician after 26 years at Anheuser-Busch, Columbus, Ohio. He lived a life centered on faith, family, and the values he held close to his heart. He was known for his gentle kindness, his sense of humor, his strong work ethic, and his generous spirit. He touched countless lives through his work, his service, and the many ways he showed up for those around him. Whether he was fishing, hunting, or simply enjoying time with family, Joe lived each day with purpose and gratitude.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy, his partner in nearly 68 years of love and life together; his children, Kimberly Dunn of Lancaster, Ohio, Joseph Dunn II (Peggy) of Orlando, FL, and Christopher Dunn (Sherry) of Apopka, FL; his grandchildren, Paul Reichardt(Rachael), Tim Reichardt, Christopher McKibben(Shelby), Cassie Ratliff, Amanda Linders(Jeroen), Trey Dunn, Hillary Goel(Deepak), Ian Dunn, Nate Dunn, Jennifer Knowlton(Jim), Jessica Ramella(Darin), Katie Dunn, and Karly Jarrett(Sid); along with 20 great‑grandchildren and 3 great‑great‑grandchildren, all of whom brought him immeasurable joy. He is also survived by his brother, William Dunn of Marrietta, Ohio, and brother-in-law, Max Valdez of Coal City, IL, and 23 nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Mildred Dunn, and parents-in-law, Robert and Freda Schellenberger, his brother-in-law, Lloyd, and sisters-in-law, Dona, Connie, Darla, and Laura.
A celebration of Joe’s life will be held on March 21, 2026, at Genoa Baptist Church in Westerville, with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. and the service at 11:00 a.m., with a sit‑down lunch afterward for all who wish to join. A family graveside service will be held on June 14th at 2:00 p.m. at New Matamoras Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to gather, remember, and honor a life well lived.
The family extends their heartfelt appreciation to St. Ann’s Hospital, as well as to their many friends and loved ones, for the compassion and support shown during this time.
Joe will be remembered for his unwavering love, his faith, and the lasting legacy he leaves in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tunnel to Towers and/or Genoa Baptist Church, Westerville.
